The government site for education in Alberta. Contains the Program of Studies, lists of achievement indicators for each specific outcome, illustrative examples of achievement, and annotated lists of print resources.
Jim Reed has developed an extensive web resource covering virtually every topic in junior high and senior high school math in Alberta. Many pages have flash applets that let the student manipulate graphs and other objects to deepen the student's understanding of the topic. There isn't much polish on the website, however; the layout's a bit of an eyesore. The content is also quite stale; Reed's lessons achieve the learning objectives for the Alberta curriculum, and nothing more.
Another extensive web resource, enhancing a great number of math topics from elementary all the way to senior high. Manipulatives are grouped by Topic (Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, etc.) and Grade Level (6-8, 9-12).
A large list of mathematical puzzles that encourage student exploration of mathematical concepts. There are also ideas for lessons on the website, though most are focused toward elementary and junior high math classes.
A list of lesson plans. Most are focused towards elementary and junior high math classes (as with all things), but there are some suggestions for senior high classes.
A large number of manipulable simulations. Most sims are in the area of applied science (e.g. solubility, potential and kinetic energy), and very few are in the area of pure math. A lesson plan focused around the application of math to science including one or more of the simulations would be interesting.
A list of a dozen topics and activities, most with a scientific theme. Activities are listed with their math and science outcomes.
A large, well organized website housing over 100 activities and over 500 lesson plans, grouped by Grade Level and Topic.
