- Feb 10, 2018 I have been trying to configure my Nokia 6630 to access my pop3/IMAP emails. But I haven't been able to connect i suppose to the mail servers using GPRS. I have also tried several third party email clients but still I am not able to connect/retrieve my emails. I am using my GPRS to browse net using the integrated browser as well as through Opera.

i just want to know where in Msia i can buy a bigger capacity DV RS-MMC. mine is the standard 64MB an i'm runnin gout of space fast.
i've used my 6630 for few months now and for the camera and video function alone i am satisfied. can't say abt the rest cos i dun use it much.

the problem i'm having with maxis is that i'm staying in TTDI and every sunday my phone kept detecting 3G signal and bypassing the GSM one. when it happened i cannot make or recieved anything. then after the phone automaticly recieved GSM back i can only make call & sent sms but cannot recieved calls / sms. i have to change the simcard twice after that because it cant be rectified by the maxis center here in TTDI.
my firmware is 2.39 and theres no option in the setting menu for GSM only.

Anyone from Malaysia encountered those problems like: 3G searching, msg delay..etc. I would like to clarify whether this happens on Maxis M'sia. Pls assist. Thx.

I jus got the 6630.looks good and iss pretty usable.the problem i'm having is after i take a photograph in the high quality with the maximum size..in the immediate preview the picture becomes a bit blurred..anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem ? cheers

well i dont know any of those problems youre having.it works great, with 3G i have no problems at all, battery is ok considering that i use it as a MP3 Player, and the cam quality is great. i dont know why ure having problems with 3G it finds it fast and it doesnt crash

francis : if ur using maxis, please check the firmware of the phone before u buy it. if later then 3.XX dont buy it.
i'm a maxis user and i've changed the simcard twice because of the 3G problem.

the option between 3G and GSM only isn't available in my phone firmware 2.39.
when i ask them to update it they kept saying the new firmware (3.47) isn't stable yet, i have to wait another month or so.
does anyone have any experience with the new firmware?

Thanks for that tip. The &&&*ing idiot in the Nokia shop said you can't switch off 3G !
So now it's gone back to Nokia :-(
I'll have some words for him when I get my phone back. I am not impressed with Nokia putting such a heap of crap out onto the market to be honest.
I recall on another site about switching off 3G & the guy said that also prolongs battery life.

yes.. another reason to pay for an 'off-contract' phone.. YOU decide what the 'fancy buttons' do, not the provider! :)

I have switched off my 3G and gone over to GSM
Go to Tools~Settings~Network. In the Network Mode, select GSM.
Seems to sort out alot of the problems though, for some reason, it no longer wishes to access the internet.
Beginning to regret this phone now. At least it was a free upgrade

i bought 6630 just 2 months ago, however, i cant change the palette color, i took it 2 the service agent but they told me it cant be changed for now. My other probleme is that the fone suddenly showed the memory card as not inserted & only fone memory is used.

One more doubt i have is that the resolution of photos taken with the 6630 is also 1280 x 960..So my question is that are any of U usin the 6630 also havin similar problems or is it only with the 3230.

I think the only ones here saying 'This phone is great' must be kids that like all the gadgets on it !
Anyone that needs a good phone to take & make calls ought not to buy a 6630. I found the same as Andy that it drops out of reception a lot of the time time as it looks for 3G !
